Ailsa (Ale-Sa) is a Costume Designer & Stylist based in London.

Ailsa’s work is strongly guided by narrative choices; aiming to humanise each person she dresses with rich personal context. She specialises in projects that requires clothing choices to be well observed; specifically Film, Commercials and Editorials.

Whilst studying Fashion Communication with Business Studies, Ailsa was mentored by Head of Styling at Burberry, Stephanie Sartorio John. From here, she landed an internship working at Wonderland Magazine under Toni Blaze, Kamran Rajput, Abigail Hazaard and Shaquille Williams; including projects with Photographer Ellen Von Unwerth and talent such as Beabadoobie. She later went on to become the first assistant to Jamie-Maree Shipton for 18 months working on editorials for Vogue and and shows for Rave Review.

Alongside Fashion, Ailsa begun to work on Music Promos and Commercials. Starting out assisting the likes of Emma Jayne Lipop, she quickly aligned with production companies such as CANADA and Iconoclast for HOD on commercials for Lenor, Visa and Starbucks. In 2023, Ailsa was the lead stylist on all Furla’s commercial and seasonal campaigns with creative by Dazed Studio.

Ailsa has been a UKMVA judge for the Best Costume and Makeup category since 2022. She was a runner up as Best Styling Graduate at the Fashion Graduate Awards in 2021, and was named one of London’s Hottest Stylist’s by HYPEBAE in 2023.
